ROLE: Purchasing Manager

 

DETAILS: Full Time

 

LOCATION: Full time - Dublin West

 

 

 

ROLE:

As Purchasing Manager, you will report directly to Senior Management, with full responsibility for company spend and stock management for LED Group. You will review current procurement procedures in line with a cost savings and development strategy ensuring the most efficient return on investment in stock whilst delivering a service level of a minimum of 99% on our Top 130 products and a general service level over and above 99%.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing stock levels for LED Group – Australian / Irish / Export markets to ensure KPI’s are achieved in line with company objectives / targets
  • Management of all suppliers regarding all aspects of price, delivery, lead times, MOQ, payment terms and freight terms
  • Continuous assessment of supplier and China office performance
  • Seeking price reductions from suppliers in line with market trends and developments
  • Monthly review of cost pricing to ensure that the landed cost reflects actual on system
  • Team management - responsible for employee training, performance measurement, development, motivation and recognition
  • Conduct twice annual appraisals and once annual salary reviews
  • Develop, implement, and communicate strategies, goals, and objectives to improve supply chain performance
  • Management of all shipping partners to ensure best deal is achieved without compromising service levels
  • Meeting preparation for all supplier meetings with clear objectives set out
  • Monthly conference calls with LED China with clear objectives set out
  • Liaise with the sales and marketing team to identify and manage promotions
  • Liaise with Regional Directors for planning / forecasting of products
  • Liaise with the Sales Directors, Finance & sales and to identify and manage excess stock situations and implement plans to reduce
  • Liaise with the NPD / RD& I team to manage the launch of new products and the planning of replenishment stock
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure stock holding targets are kept to a level agreed upon
  • Travel to China to meet with suppliers and the LED China Office two to three times per annum
  • Attend Management meetings
  • Attend UK Regional Sales meetings where necessary, followed by customer calls
  • Implement new stock & forecasting system with IT Department

 

PERSONALITY TYPE:

  • One should be very assertive as there are a lot of challenges dealing with China
  • The person should have people management experience
  • Strong communication skills particularly in relation to interfacing with other departments and external parties
  • Results driven with high levels of drive and energy and the ability to work on own initiative
  • Team player with the ability to work well in a pressurised environment to demanding objectives

 

ASPECTS TO THE POSITION:

  • There will be up to 3 annual trips to China. 
  • As this is a management position there will be a requirement to do extra hours during busy periods
  • Salary will be discussed at 2nd interview, but will not be a deterrent to a suitable candidate
  • Working hours will be 7.30am to 4.30pm

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High-powered, strong negotiation skills
  • IIPMM Degree qualified in Business & Supply Chain
  • Demand planning / procurement professional with 7yrs+ experience, ideally in the Lighting sector
  • Strong stakeholder / supplier management experience
  • Experience leading tenders process from start to finish, specifically RFI’s
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, including advanced spreadsheet tools
  • Proven problem solving, planning and analytical skills, high standard of numeracy is a must
  • SAP experience
  • Product life cycle management experience

ROLE: Technical Product Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Product Engineer role to support the Technical Department across a range of activities and interactions with other departments within the business. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To co-ordinate certification requirements for lighting products across all customer markets, including various product approval schemes
  • To co-ordinate product changes and the control of technical data relating to products, including data updates and transfer of info between other departments for Sales & Marketing activities
  • To carry out continuous improvement and value engineering activities on existing product ranges in order to ensure that pricing, performance and quality are optimised
  • To assist in the implementation of the technical quality system across other departments
  • To assist in carrying out product performance testing and failure analysis

TYPE OF PERSON:

ROLE: Project Engineer

ROLE: Graduate Programme with a view to take a full time Sales Role in Australia

DESCRIPTION:

LED Group is an Irish company established in 1984 with a highly successful branded worldwide lighting business (ROBUS). We manufacture in China, with our most significant markets being Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand, France and developing European markets.

Due to growing market share in all areas, we are now seeking to recruit another person to join our Graduate Programme, which involves a wide remit of training across most company departments, including time spent in the field. At the end of the 12 month training programme, this person is eligible to be offered a position in an area that suits their competencies and the business’ requirements; however, for this particular recruit we are highlighting an opportunity to join our sales team in Australia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate to join our business and receive hands-on training and a general overview of how an international business operates. Based in Dublin, you will receive 12 months full training in Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Research and New Product Development, Purchasing, IT, Accounts and Operations Management. Post 12 months training and upon successful appraisal it is our hope to move the successful graduate to a sales role in Australia.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • 12 months training across departments, which will be outlined by department, timeline and areas covered during your induction period.
  • In particular, time in the field with Irish, UK and European Sales Teams.
  • Examples of key duties during this time include:
    • Time in the field gaining customer insights and an in-depth understanding of their needs and market opportunities. This may involve organizing surveys, analyzing statistics or meeting with customers.
    • Review current range portfolio and participate in product training, building product knowledge.
    • Researching competitor websites / catalogues and marketing activities.
    • Assisting with the preparation of customer trips and events.
    • Responding to and delivering ad hoc requests from the business as they arise

SKILLS

This is a demanding position and requires someone diligent with the following traits:
