ROLE: Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineer

DETAILS: Full Time - Dublin West
Reporting to: RD&I Director


To efficiently carry out and deliver all mechanical engineering design requirements at the Dublin operations of LED Group; to carry out value engineering of existing products under price pressure; and to contribute to electrical/electronics subprojects in lighting design, in order to contribute to the delivery of successful R&D-originated products and which will deliver on or above target gross profit to LED Group.


We are seeking a full time mechatronic engineer to join our R&D department, working in concert with our new product introductions and quality departments, our prototyping subcontractors, and our Asian operations.

Reporting to the RD&I Director, the appointee will drive a licence of the company's SolidWorks and/or AutoDesk Inventor computer-aided design software to generate 3D model designs and reduce these to full sets of engineering drawings for new prototype and production products developed in the company's R&D laboratories at its global headquarters in Dublin, or in collaboration with our Chinese suppliers. The appointee will be expected to work closely with the RD&I Director, the New Product Development team, and the Quality Control team, as well as with the company's quality control, engineering and manufacturing teams in China. The appointee will also be expected to work closely with suppliers and subcontractors in the early stages of product development and introduction. Flexibility with duties is an essential.

The successful candidate should have:

  • A professionally approved degree in mechatronic engineering, or in mechanical engineering or product design or similar. We are also interested to hear from electrical engineers as part of our wider recruitment plans.
  • At least 1-2 years experience in industry is preferred; we are prepared to review CVs from engineering graduates of 2017 class or earlier who have good grades; we will also review CVs from more experienced engineers.
  • Experience in designing components or products of any of the following types is an advantage:
    • Lighting products / luminaires, or other optical / optoelectronics
    • Electrical devices/appliances (consumer or professional/industrial)
    • Solar (thermal or photovoltaic) installations
    • Thermal loading / cooling / heatsink requirements
    • Control units
  • Proficiency and sustained industrial experience in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor is essential for this appointment (preferable if that includes thermal modules, but training can be provided on this). Candidates will be expected to show evidence of having successfully designed product and components using SolidWorks or Autodesk, at least by reference.
  • Good understanding of engineering for manufacture, tolerances, bills of materials, costings
  • Experience managing subcontract precision mechanical engineering and tooling shops
  • Be able to multi-task, on multiple new product developments, and meet project deadlines
  • Good understanding of heat flow, thermal management, and strain an advantage
  • Good understanding of material properties (thermal, mechanical, optical, curing, fracture mechanisms, fire and chemical resistance) an advantage
  • Helpful to have understanding of 3D printing

  • Willing to travel as required to Chinese factories or other subcontractors. There will be a requirement to travel to China several times per year for 7-10 days at a time.

ROLE: Senior Marketing Executive

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Marketing team to handle a wide remit of marketing and sales support duties– this is an ideal opportunity for a Marketing professional with approx. 4 years’ experience to gain exposure to working in a fast-paced marketing environment.  We are looking for a detail oriented individual to support our marketing activities. 

The LED GROUP marketing team drive the commercial reality of the ROBUS brand by developing tailored customer marketing strategies for visibility in-store and on-line.  Reporting to the Group Marketing Manager, this role covers responsibilities with both creative and media agencies, customer research, marketing analysis and supporting the delivery of campaigns across print and digital.


  • Supporting the management of marketing campaigns (print, direct mail, customer communications) to deliver positive return-on-investment.
  • Formulate data for annual catalogue (& supplementary additions) and information sheets.
  • Support and attend various industry events and conferences.
  • Developing / sourcing customer specific displays and marketing materials (corporate gifts etc.,) and gaining buy-in from key internal and external customers to guarantee excellent execution at store.  Monitoring distribution and stocks of same.
  • Work alongside NPD team in bringing new products to launch – mainly on packaging design and catalogue documentation.  Filling packaging briefs for China office on in-house and customer requirements.  Liaison with customers sometimes required.  Give final approval.
  • Brief and oversee Product and Project Photography for catalogue, brochure and websites.  Set location / agenda for photographer to maximise value.  Push sales teams for locations.  Update photo archives.
  • Regular promotional monitoring / reviews.
  • Support Sales teams globally with Trade fair execution (international to local level), through the development of a range of marketing tools and bespoke stands; Co-ordination of trade fairs from booking space through to construction / dismantling and product placement etc., Organizing portable stand when required and ensuring there is no damage.
  • Time in the field gaining customer insights and an in-depth understanding of their needs and marketing opportunities.
  • Admin duties such as purchase order placement, allocating invoices and recording of spend.

ROLE: NPD Executive

DETAILS: Full Time - Dublin West 


The LED GROUP is an Irish company established in 1984 with a highly successful worldwide lighting business. We have our own factory in China, with our most significant markets being Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and European markets.

Due to expansion, we are now seeking to recruit a New Product Development Executive. Based in Dublin and dealing daily with our office in China, you will proactively manage the NPD function alongside the team to support the company’s new product development targets.

Reporting to the New Product Development Manager, you will work in partnership with the Quality Control, Technical, Marketing, Sales and Purchasing teams to ensure new products launched under the ROBUS brand meet the required specification and are launched within agreed deadlines.


ROLE:To assist in the management of all new and existing product development projects, ensuring the NPD Gross Profit Annual Targets are delivered.

Your responsibilities will be met through

  • Managing own projects from start to completion, constantly striving to push projects through the development process within agreed deadlines
  • Daily communication with the relevant parties in China to update and follow up actions

  • Co-operate and liaise with other departments to ensure sales of new products are supported by responding to enquiries within satisfactory time frames

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will work in partnership with the Quality Control, Accounts, Marketing, Sales and New Product Development teams as well as LED Group in China.


1) Products Availability, Inventory and Cost Management
• Identify, report and escalate out-of-stock risk, inventory levels and logistical challenges which will impact on customer service levels and sales revenue
• Expedite or de-expedite product as required, ensuring material availability at all times, whilst meeting agreed inventory targets
• Deal with enquiries from the sales teams with regards to large orders and stock availability dates
• Understand and maintain the agreed target of inventory and report on the status of inventory levels against inventory targets
• Pricing/cost management and conduct cost analysis
• Maintain accurate item master data e.g. lead times, batch size, safety stock target, etc to ensure 100% system data accuracy at all times

2) Purchase Order and Supplier Management
• Forecast sales requirements and place purchase orders accordingly
• Manage open orders with suppliers to ensure there is sufficient stock on hand at all times to satisfy customer demand

Due to growing market share in all areas, we are now seeking to recruit another person to join our Graduate Programme, which involves a wide remit of training across most company departments, including time spent in the field. At the end of the 12 month training programme, this person is eligible to be offered a position in an area that suits their competencies and the business’ requirements; however, for this particular recruit we are highlighting an opportunity to join our sales team in Australia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate to join our business and receive hands-on training and a general overview of how an international business operates. Based in Dublin, you will receive 12 months full training in Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Research and New Product Development, Purchasing, IT, Accounts and Operations Management. Post 12 months training and upon successful appraisal it is our hope to move the successful graduate to a sales role in Australia.


  • 12 months training across departments, which will be outlined by department, timeline and areas covered during your induction period.
  • In particular, time in the field with Irish, UK and European Sales Teams.
  • Examples of key duties during this time include:
